Although well-known as a lawman, William Barclay Masterson, better known as "Bat," was more frequently employed as a gambler and fight promoter. He called Denver his home from the late 1800's to about 1902. During this time he served as an Arapahoe County Deputy Sheriff. His longest time served was from December 5, 1896 to August 25, 1897. He also served sporadically at other times, being sworn in as a special deputy according to county records.


Dr. Susan Anderson. Doc Susie was one of Colorado's first woman doctors, and was Colorado's first woman coroner. She was also one of the state's most extraordinary and eccentric women. She began her practice in Cripple Creek, and from here on, her life was one continuous adventure. The Television show "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman", was fashioned after the life of Doc Susie. However Doc Susie's life was much more interesting than Dr. Quinn's. Queen Ann has a queen bed. It also has a microwave and a small refrigerator.
This delightful cabin has a full kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining room, and a seperate living room. It has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other one has a bunk bed. It sits seperate from the other motel rooms and has a covered patio.
Here at the Cactus Rose we have four clean remolded rooms furnished with queen size beds, refridgerators, microwaves, TVs, VCRs, and coffee makers. We also have a two bedroom suite with full kitchen available in the summer season.
